Emerging Spatial Professionals NZ

OrganisationEmerging Spatial Professionals NZ

The emerging-professionals network developed around 2015. It organised networking, career events and professional support for people entering spatial work.

The group also contributed to national workforce research: Emerging Spatial Professionals was one of six organisations represented on the GISS Committee behind the 2023 Geospatial Industry Profile Survey. This connects early-career practitioners with wider evidence about skills and employment in the sector.

Emerging Spatial Professionals NZ is a volunteer-run professional networking group for people beginning careers in the spatial industry. LINZ describes its activities as including career talks, meetups and mini-conferences, while OSGeo Oceania records a 2026 careers evening at the University of Auckland that brought students, recent graduates and experienced practitioners together.
