The geography department’s GIS teaching is documented from 1985. Research, teaching and commercial consulting also met through UniServices and GTU. GBS’s retrospective remembers David Hawke as a technical mentor to Harley Prowse and Tony Elson, recording one route through which university experience entered later consulting work.
