WaiGIS is a Waikato-based GIS group established in 2007 and listed by LINZ among New Zealand’s geospatial networks.
Its regional focus gives practitioners and others interested in GIS a local community alongside national professional bodies and software user groups.
The group is an example of the regional networks through which practitioners could exchange local knowledge, data and technical experience without requiring a national conference or a single software platform.
