Lands and Survey reporting and C. E. Adams’s material document the Wairarapa baseline and early geodetic-adjustment work. These early calculations should be distinguished from the later development of NZGD49, described in official geodetic histories and LINZ’s retrospective documentation. These records do not establish that a single calculation in 1912 created the national datum.
