Matti Seikkula and Simon Jellie formed the consultancy that became e-Spatial in 1998 after working at Critchlow. Seikkula’s work connected spatial consulting, architecture and enterprise information systems. In December 2015 e-Spatial announced his Spatial Excellence Professional of the Year award. Harrison Grierson announced its merger with e-Spatial in November 2017.

Matti Seikkula and Simon Jellie formed the consultancy that became e-Spatial in 1998 after meeting while working at Critchlow; Harrison Grierson announced a merger with the Wellington spatial consultancy in November 2017, and later accounts record its purchase in 2018. Geographx specialised in cartographic production, while e-Spatial supplied spatial consulting and implementation services.
